Revisional (Re-do) Surgery

Re-do surgery is performed when bariatric surgery goes wrong or proves ineffective.

It is the most complex kind of bariatric surgery and (compared with first-time surgery) carries about double the risk of major postoperative complications and death.

Re-do surgery should only be carried out in highly specialised and experienced units.
